'G.W. Morris, Patent 1856' marked on top of the bbl. Overall gun is in very fine cond for a 1st Model retaining probably 30-40% orig blue starting to turn a plummish color in various spots, VG shootable bore-bright and shiny with a few very light scattered pits. Orig 28" full octagon bbl, full length magazine tube, orig sights. Orig wood is in VG cond with a few small mars and dings and a very good small repair at the front of the stock right where it meets the receiver; there's been a small piece inserted-very nicely done. 500 serial number range and has the very scarce 1st Model style wedge type forend cap retaining pin. All orig, very hard to find gun; this is the only one I've ever had.
