(EL-8826a) BROWNING MODEL 1886 HIGH GRADE DELUXE SADDLERING CARBINE
Caliber 45-70. A very limited run of these firearms were made by Browning-an exact copy of the 1886. Marked '1 of 3,000' on the bbl. Absolutely wonderful engraving with two grizzly bears in gold on the loading port side and 2 running buck deer on the saddlering side with a very pretty engraving of a mountain scene in the background. These are very beautiful carbines; this one is new, unfired, in the box with paperwork. e

(EL-8654) SPECIAL ORDER MODEL 1886 WINCHESTER IN 38-56
Features include: half round, half oct bbl, uncheckered pistol grip stock which is straight grained and has the crescent buttplate. Right side of receiver has a nice aged patina to it with some blue peeking out; the remainder is kind of a brownish coloration. The left side exhibits quite a bit of blue at 60% or so, bbl likewise with nice sharp edges on the octagon part, quite a bit of blue (although thinning) on the top. Most of the metal parts on this gun do have a very neat looking, almost goldish color, to them. Was probably somebody's pride and joy and hung at his bar or something. Wood is in VG cond, may have been rubbed down with a little oil at one time; one chip repair in the upper corner on left hand side using the orig piece. Case colored frame which has been cleaned, traces of case hardening remain, some extra figure in the wood which fits reasonably good and is in good cond with no cracks or losses; rifle butt. Bore is in fair to good cond; a good cleaning may bring it up to VG. Some modifications have been done to the gun; you can see a dovetail underneath the bbl-nice job that looks like it was done long ago. Decent gun. e

Gun retains almost all of the very nice orig bbl blue. Receiver has grayed out considerably but still some blue remaining in protected areas. This gun has all the desirable standard features such as: octagon bbl, full mag, crescent buttplate and retains nearly all the blue on both the receiver and the bbl, exc bore, quite nice case colors on hammer and lever. Orig 22" half oct bbl, half length magazine with a take down style frame. Orig wood is in exc cond with 60-70% orig varnish; complete with correct shotgun style buttplate. One fairly significant ding in the left hand side of the forearm but wood is still very near exc with no splits or cracks. Overall metal is exc with 95% slightly toning bbl and mag blue, 75-80% orig blue remaining on the receiver-starting to thin somewhat, exc traces of case color on the hammer and lever. This gun consists of what appears to be an orig 86 saddlering receiver, the rifle bbl and mag tube were originally a 50 Express caliber but cut to approximately 22" in length, bbl retaining band is in the right place. Orig wood is generally VG; rifle style buttplate. Overall metal has turned a plum brownish coloration but still fairly smooth and clean, VG shootable bore. Orig sights include 1886 marked folding rear bbl, Beaches combination front and folding Lyman tang staff rear. 26" full oct bbl, full length magazine, VG+ bore with a few very minor pits but still bright and shiny, sharp rifling. Overall wood is exc retaining most of the orig high gloss lacquer finish, a few light handling mars, dings and scuffs. Complete with special order Swiss style buttplate. Interesting gun. Metal is exc with 95% orig bbl and mag blue, some slight toning but sharp corners and exc markings; receiver retains 75% case colors with about 40% vividness. Some dings and scratches on the oct bbl, coloration is a blue/brown that is pretty much drifting towards brown, bore is relatively good although it has some roughness. Receiver is mostly a medium brownish patina, wood is good but has been freshened up and has a chip repair on the bottom right hand corner. This is a BIG fricking gun!

Thinning bbl blue with some freckling, receiver was originally case colored and still has some showing in very protected areas; has turned a silvery color and is almost nickelly. Metal is nice smooth and clean, forearm cap also has a nickelly appearance; some case colors still evident on hammer and lever. Half round, half oct, button mag. This 1886 was originally case colored with some case colors still remaining especially on the left hand side under the Lyman 21 sight. Pistol grip stock is uncheckered and is full fitting with no losses or cracks; crescent rifle butt. Caliber 40-82. Overall gun is in fantastic cond with 95%+ vivid case colors on both sides of the receiver; slightly toning and turning dark at the bottom. The orig 26" full round bbl and full length magazine retain virtually 98%+ of the orig bright shiny lustrous blue, exc bore and orig sights. The wood is a much finer than average grain; a few very minor handling mars, most lacquer still remaining on the stocks and complete with rifle style buttplate that has turned somewhat dark.
